Many people associate "smart home" with with the need to use many computers and wires, but this opinion is erroneous. Such a system should provide comfort and convenience, as well as ease of equipment management. That is why the "smart home" created on the basis of modern technologies that do not involve the use of wires.

It is possible to combine equipment into control circuits using several methods. Most often used:

  • special sensors. They work under certain circumstances, as a result of which some devices start working, or vice versa — stop their functioning;
  • X10 command systems. Signals are transmitted in short pulses when the mains voltage sine wave reaches zero. It is important to note that the number of addressable devices can be up to 256;
  • home automation controllers. Devices can function with different interfaces.

A few years ago, in smart home systems, to control certain groups of devices, for example, lighting, one panel was used, for heating — others, etc. Of course, this is not always convenient, because often the control devices are simply lost. The most modern are universal remote controls that are suitable for adjusting and setting the operating modes of any household devices and equipment.

It is important to note that universal infrared remote controls are also being produced today, which are a pocket computer with a color touch screen. They can be programmed offline or using stationary PCs.

However, the central element of the "smart home" can become an embedded small computer with a touch screen. It is suitable for controlling automation devices, reprogramming them or monitoring the operation of equipment. Its functionality is determined depending on the features of the installed software.

It becomes clear that the installation of the "smart home" system allows you to control all household appliances and devices at the facility without constantly turning appliances on and off from the network, regularly rewiring and connecting wires.
